‘You have been…a shelter from the storm…’ Isaiah 25:4 NIV
To be prepared for life’s storms you must:

(1) Know your storm manual. The hymnist Kelso Carter wrote: ‘Standing on the promises that cannot fail, when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, by the living Word I shall prevail, standing on the promises of God.’ Emotion-based faith is like a broken crutch; it won’t support you in life’s storms. It’s fair-weather Christianity and it doesn’t work. God’s Word stands sure; it’s greater than surrounding conditions and will enable you to outlast any storm. ‘Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly…’ (Colossians 3:16 NIV) Keep a rich deposit of Scripture within you at all times so you can make a withdrawal when you need it. Withstanding life’s storms depends on your willingness to ‘…hear these words…and put them into practice…’ (Matthew 7:24 NIV) So, memorise the Scriptures; read them until, if you’re cut, you bleed Scripture. Meditate on God’s Word until it fills and shapes your consciousness. When the storm came, Job said, ‘…I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.’ (Job 23:12 NKJV) (2) Storm-proof yourself through prayer. Many of us treat prayer like a visit to the emergency room; until then we neglect it. Imagine where Daniel would have been if he’d held off praying until he was staring down the lion’s throat? Not a smart move. Instead, in his time of crisis Daniel drew on faith built by a lifestyle of daily prayer. And in your crisis, you too can make withdrawals from your account – as long as you’ve been faithful to make regular deposits.

I just had to share this.. God bless… It continues tomorrow…..

Light of the World

Hi guys..

How long has it been since you did some real strategic friend making. You know the type where you identify someone from a distance, probably after watching or observing him/her for for a while you decide you want to make them your friend for some particular reason. When last did you do something like that, or should I even ask “Have you ever done something like that??

I ask in regard to making friends for the sole aim of winning their souls for Christ. Your probably in the music department, or technical, drama or stage arts, ushering or protocols, sanctuary cleaners or maintenance e.t.c.. My point is this; we get ourselves so occupied with Church “activities” that we forget the main aim which is to win souls for Christ. Matthew 28:19 tells us to go into all the world making disciples of every nation, that is our mission as believers no question about that and sadly cleaning the church or other such activities don’t bring people under the discipleship of our Lord.

Consider that guy you looked at with disgust at the side of the road smoking, or the young girl coming home with different men every night. Your pastor isn’t the answer, you are. The onus is on you to get them saved, you have all it takes and as a matter of fact you have been commanded to do it. Ephesians 4:11-13 shows us the real job or role of the Pastor, which is to build and teach but it is our job to go out on the streets and win souls. Your place of work, your compound, your family, all these places are your hunting ground.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 makes it clear that we are to reconcile others to Christ, He has given us the “ministry of reconciliation”. Its my ministry and its your ministry, I would go even further to prove to you that its not optional; Ezekiel 33:1-8 talks about the watchman not sounding the alarm to warn the people of the sword coming and they die, the watchman would be held accountable for that life. We are the watchmen in this case and its our duty to speak the truth and get as many for Christ, if we speak and they still don’t heed we have saved ourselves/done our part.

You may be thinking this is the old testament so doesn’t apply again yea? Well in Acts 20:23-30, Paul said: 25 “Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again. 26 Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you. 27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.”  ….

Is there any need to say any more? I was made aware of this recently and so help me God I will live everyday seeking out souls to be won, people to be help, friends to be made and love to spread, that is my prayer and I pray we all get this and step out to depopulate hell!!!

More Grace!!!
